AFC Brightwell-Away

Thank you to Peter Turner from AFC Brightwell who informed me on Friday morning that the game was off at AFC Brightwell due to being waterlogged which allowed me time to book a pitch at Horspath Road running track due to our U9's playing at Court farm Place and allowing all the boys to enjoy a game of football this morning. Thanks also to Tony Rogers who help me transport the goals and reffing all three games and the parents who helped put up and take down the goals.

1st Game Won 1-4

Team:Kieron Massingham,Tate Rogers,Tremayne Barratt,Lester Davies,Jack Tutton,Ross McMahon,Leyton Brandon.

We started this game very well with the right attitude and direction on a windy and cloudy cold morning. We held possession and pinned our opponents back for long periods and then we opened the scoring half way through the first half when we broke away through Ross McMahon who drove low into the bottom corner,Ross added another goal quickly after with a superb taken strike from wide left into the top right hand corner of the goal.Super goalkeeping from our Keeper Kieron Massingham relieved any possible pressure.Jack Tutton created the third after a mazey run which ended with a shot which was turned in by an unlucky defender.Half time 0-3,Tremayne Barratt added the fourth from close range in the box, Brightwell got a deserved goal late on to complete the scoreline.

2nd Game Won 0-2

Team:Kieron Massingham,Cameron Innes,Thomas Van Gucci,Joesph Hastings,Robbie Morton,Jprdan Lawson,Jamie Smith(Locky) Half time changes in Brackets.

This game was very entertaining, with good passing, tackling on show from both sides, Cameron Innes scored two very good strikes from long range in the first half, Great team play and effort from everyone this morning. The second half had many chances for both sides but nobody found the net due to excellent goalkeeping from both sides.

Third Game Draw 2-2

Team:Jack Tutton,Kieron Massingham,James Rule,Cameron Gray,Jamie Smith,Malcolm Blinder,Locky.

This game saw all out attack from both sides with us taken the lead through Cameron Gray scoring after Malcolm Blinder unselfishly passed the ball off to allow Cameron to score from close range,Malcolm was rewarded later for this as he broke away from the half way line and slotted the ball pass the keeper. Halftime score 0-2.
The second half carried on the same as the first half with both sides seeming to be playing with three up front.
Brightwell scored two goals in a frantic two minutes to end a great mornings football.

All the lads this morning played yet again to a high standard for their young age.

Rob Tutton
