Reading Town Mini-Tournament

First Posted: 26.10.2006
After an invitation to attend this Mini six a side tournament involving six teams between 3pm and 5pm this was great fun and such a great experience for this young side.

Team Kieron Massingham,Cameron Innes,Tate Rogers,Jack Tutton,Ross McMahon,Lester Davies,Leyton Brandon,Thermayne Barrett.
The team rotated and changed with each game.

First Game against Litton FC from Wiltshire 0 OCC 3

A great start with a 3-0 win with Two goals coming straight from Jack Tutton corners. The other goal was a close finish by Jack Tutton to complete his hat trick, the team as a whole defended well and shut people down early.

Second Game against Stevenage from Hertfordshire 0 OCC 4

This team we played were a very good footballing side and passed the ball much better than us,but our workrate and defending allowed us to counter attack which we did with cinical finishing, Score 4-0 Goalscorers Thermayne Barrett,Jack Tutton(2)and Leyton Brandon.

Third Game Woodley Hammers From Reading area 0 OCC 0

This game was even with few chances for both teams. 0-0, Great saves from our goalie stopped us conceding in this game.

Fourth Game Bicester Town Colts 0 OCC 3

This game was an entertaining game with Jack Tutton grabbing another hat trick, The team are beginning to gel and warm up after three games we are beginning to pass the ball better.

Fifth Game Grove Challengers 1 OCC 2

This game for the players was disapointing as they told me, that the goal concended didn't need to have happened as it was down to an individual mistake, Goals from Ross McMahon and Lester Davies gave us a 2-0 lead before we conceded.

All the players involved really loved it and were really hyper all day !! Brilliant, Some players I was told by Mums woke up and wore their OCC kit all day until 3pm when we kicked off, Priceless !!

Thanks To Martin McMahon,Dougie Innes and Tony Rogers for there help in the warm up and during matches, child minding and giving up thier time for the afternoon.

Rob Tutton
